In keeping with the style and spirit of all the wines I produce, my first white wine to be released is a ‘beautiful & elegantly crafted food wine’. My inspiration once again comes from the wonderful Bordeaux region of France … and the great White Wines / Bordeaux Blanc’s produced there!
The PALAZZO 2010 Cuvée Blanc is a delicious blend, made predominately from the wonderfully exotic & aromatic Semillon grape, with a touch of Sauvignon Blanc blended in for ‘finesse & structure’. The nose is ‘floral & seductive’ … filled with intense aromas of pear blossoms, orange peel & beautiful notes of acacia honey. On the palette the wine is ‘beautifully balanced’ with a rich oily texture, along with stunning acidity! Delicious white peach, pineapple & stone fruit flavors fill your mouth … eventually giving way to a wonderfully long, exquisite finish … especially for a white wine! A ‘Superior Food Wine’ to be enjoyed!
NOTE: Do not over chill or put this wine in the refrigerator! It will close down the wine & crush ALL of the beautiful floral aromatics & the richness & weight of the mouthfeel. No colder than “cellar temp”, just treat it like a great bottle of Red Wine. The French Laundry ‘decants’ my Cuvée Blanc table-side, allowing the wine to ‘open up and show all it’s complexity’! Try decanting it at home … you’ll be AMAZED!!!

Robert Parker – Review
“The 2010 (90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc) displays citrus blossom, lemon zest, and floral notes. It is quite intense on the attack and mid-palate, with medium to full-bodied, elegant levels of acidity, and impressive purity and length. It’s impossible to know how long these wines can age, but Semillon has a good track record for cellaring. Nevertheless, I’d opt to drink it in its first decade of life. This wine, like the other cuvées of Cuvée Blanc, never goes through malolactic fermentation and is aged in totally neutral wood.”
